Barnyard adventure is in store for the whole family during Spring on the Farm at Fort William Historical Park, Sunday, June 1st. Kids will delight in getting nose-to-nose with young farm animals including baby chicks, lambs, and goats.
Children have plenty of hands-on activities including making yarn butterflies, hand printed lambs, decorative flowers, colouring the giant wall mural in the Farm Square, playing ‘super-sized’ tic-tac-toe, feeding the animals, planting pumpkin seeds, joining in sing-a-longs, and playing in the straw pile in the Equipment Barn.
The kids can also win prizes playing carnival games including Lucky Duck Pluck and Eggs in a Basket. Everyone has a chance to win a prize in the Name the Baby Lamb Contest.
Visitors can take in sheep shearing, spinning, and weaving demonstrations. Visit the Dairy Yard to do a little butter churning, and savour samples of tasty bread.
Meet the mascots Willy and Amik, as well as some fur trade characters while touring the historic buildings.
Be sure to attend Spring on the Farm, June 1st. It’s a fun outing for the whole family! The Fort is open from 10 am to 5 pm daily from May 17 to September 29th.
