Voyageurs National Park has been left pristine and wild. Fishing is a big attraction, sporting Walleye and Northern Pike, Small Mouth Bass, Perch, Saugers and Crappies mostly. Hiking trails one gets to via water and some by car, visitor centers, park ranger talks and education. This is a great outdoor adventure area with wonderful accommodations. Often seen are eagles, osprey, black bear, otter, deer, occasionally moose and may hear the call of wolf or coyote. The glacial rock formations making up the numerous islands are beautiful. This is a water-based national park for the outdoor enthusiast. It is so nice to cruise by in a boat and see the property left as nature designed and not full of cabins, fancy homes or shanteys, it is nature at it's best. Voyageurs National Park is a boater's paradise as one can go from Lake Kabetogama, 50 miles to Crane Lake, passing through large Namakan, half of which is in Canada, and on to Rainy Lake, also a border lake.

Locally or Family-Owned Business Notes
The same owners since 1988. Prior to becoming Pine Tree Cove Resort, it was called Chippewa Lodge. That burned down in the early 1980s. This was a historic building with beautiful cabins. We kept the log feel in the cabins, upgraded them with additions and modernization. The screen pavilion is where the three story lodge used to sit.
