Nelimark Homestead Museum

The Nelimark Homestead Museum is a joint effort of the Embarrass township, SISU Heritage Org. and the Farmstead Artisans.  The Nelimark Home was a home, boarding house and common place for friends traveling in to and out of town to stop for coffee and a little dessert.

The house is set up with exhibit rooms, and a gift shop, but the most unique place is the Neli Coffee Room, where guests come and sit at the table,  and drink coffee and eat fresh baked goods, while they reminisce about days gone by, and even once a week meet for "Finn Talk", refreshing their speaking in the Finnish language.

There are log buildings that have been saved and moved from other sites, showing the different log structures and two saunas, one on the Minnesota Historical Registry.

We have lots of "sauna" stories, as we are collecting pictures and tales of Sauna times.  We are building an exhibit that will last two years, and folks can even have a tour of saunas.

Visiting the Nelimark Homestead Museum is an experience in hospitality as the artisan's serve the guests as if they were in their own home.  Much laughter and many stories are shared around the table.
