Lutsen Mountains

Lutsen Mountains is Mid-America's largest and tallest ski and snowboard playground. The 4 mountains, 95 runs, and 1000 acres provides a mountain skiing experience, right here in the Heart of the Continent. Offering terrain for all levels from beginner to advanced, everyone from learners, to families, to experts can enjoy riding the slopes at Lutsen Mountains. Beginners enjoy an entire mountain of beginner terrain, and experts explore the off-piste terrain as well as the steepest slopes in the midwest. There are also a number of terrain parks and features located on all four mountains.

Lutsen offers a daily line up of entertainment from January - March featuring an eclectic songwriter series featuring popular Twin Cities singer/songwriters, Apres Ski Acoustic sessions, comedy performances from nationally touring comedians, local, regional, and national bands performing live at Papa Charlie's, and much more.

Whether you're enjoying snowsports or you're just here for the view and the Lutsen Experience, Lutsen Mountains Gondola (Mountain Tram) is a must-do year-round attraction. Taking skiers, snowboardrs and sightseeing visitors from the base area to the summit of Moose Mountain, the eight-minute ride takes riders over the Poplar River and through the woods at tree-top level to the Moose Mountain Summit Chalet. In the winter, this is one of the ski area's main chalets, providing food and warmth for skiers and riders. In the non-winter months, the Summit Chalet is a northwoods eatery with a spectacular view of Lake Superior and the Superior National Forest, hosting families, hikers, sightseers, and private events & weddings. The expansive deck overlooking the lake is a popular place to sit and relax any time of year.

Also during the non-winter months, Lutsen Mountains Alpine Slide is one of the area's most popular family attractions. Take a charilift to the top of Lutsen's Eagle Mountain and ride a sled down a half-mile of twisting-turning track. It's great fun for the entire family!
