Rich in history and tradition, the "Jewel in the Forest" is accessible only by water and is located on the Minnesota/Ontario border in Voyageurs National Park. The historical hotel has twelve rooms, a restaurant, and a very unique saloon. Modern villas are also available on the shores of Rainy Lake. For those who don't have their own transportation there is also a shuttle service available for guests and boats, canoes, and kayaks for rent. There is great fishing, boating and remote hiking trails all located nearby.
Lodging Style and Amenities
There are twelve old style rooms in the hotel, decorated with antique furniture and with three shared bathrooms. The modern villa units are located about 1/4 mile from the hotel on the shore of Rainy Lake and can accommodate up to four people per unit. Some have kitchens and some do not. The villa units can be joined together to accommodate larger groups.

Fishing is fantastic with two lakes to choose from and walleye, northern, and bass all plentiful. There are also almost unlimited boating opportunities on the five major lakes connecting in the park, whether you want to motor along or paddle quietly in a backwater you can find many different areas to enjoy the water. Hiking is just a short boat ride away with the Cruiser Lake Trail system nearby.

Located roughly 30 miles North of Orr, MN and 30 miles South of Int'l Falls, MN on Highway 53 you will find County Road 129. Take that about 9 miles to the turnoff to the Ash River Visitor Center. The visitor center is the closest land access and where the boat shuttle for guests takes off from. From there it is a 13 mile boat ride across Namakan Lake with the red and green navigation buoys to lead the way.
