Centennial Hiking Trail on the Gunflint Trail

The Centennial Hiking Trail follows a portion of the  Port Arthur Duluth, and Western Railroad. This is a loop trail of just over 3 miles with numerous opportunities to get a glimpse of the history of the area. Test pits and piles of tailings are viewed from the trail as well as old switchbacks. You can extend the hike by taking the side trip to the old fire tower. Enjoy the scenery of small lakes, pick some blueberries in season and keep an eye out for wildlife as moose like to frequent the area.
