Bois Forte Heritage Center

Located on the shores of Lake Vermilion and on the grounds of Fortune Bay Resort.  Museum is dedicated to telling the Bois Forte Ojibwe story, as the name Atisokanigamig (Legend House) says.

Since opening in 2001, response to the museum has been very positive; we hear over and over again how worthwhile and meaningful the museum is.

In addition to award winning displays, there is a birch bark dwelling and tipi on the grounds and a path that leads to the remains of an 1866 gold mine.

Site is group friendly with plenty of parking and room for buses.

We would love to have you visit us and will work hard to make your time with us educational and full of fun.
