Locally or Family-Owned Business Notes

David & Cathi Williams started Bear Track Outfitting Co. in 1972, offering complete & partial outfitting for adventure trips to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and trips to Isle Royale National Park.  They added cabins at Bally Creek in 1979, fashioned after the old logging camps.  Their rustic style cabins offer a true respite from the high tech interference of computers and phones that busy city folks need to get away from to recharge and re-energize.  One happy guest stated "I get more relaxation in two days here than a week anywhere else!"  2016 begins their 44th year as owner operators of Bear Track Outfitting Co. and Bally Creek Cabins.

Accessibility Notes

We have had many foreign visitors to Bally Creek Cabins, and also High School and College groups for environmental learning.  It is a great place to bring teenagers and teach them about a simpler way of life and there are no other distractions there for them.

Teaching people to be self-sufficient and almost living off the grid...cell phones do work in an emergency, but there is no electricity to recharge them.

Pet Friendly Notes

Pets are allowed, and there is a 1K skijoring trail especially for people to ski with their dog.

Seasons Open

Open Year round, except for April and November or until the snow flies. Summer Rates are approximately $10. less a night than winter. Summer rates are from May 1 to September 15.
