Canada Day Celebrations at Fort William Historical Park

There is plenty of family-friendly fun in store at Fort William Historical Park on Canada Day, July 1st.. Come join the celebration and enjoy  tasty birthday cake along with games, contests, heritage activities, and loads of family-oriented activities that highlight the festivities.

Colourful pomp and ceremony happens in the afternoon with the canoe arrival of fur traders accompanied by bag pipers, and cannon and musket salutes, all serving as a prelude to the singing of O Canada in the Main Square.  Patrons can enjoy servings of tasty Canada Day birthday cake.

All visitors big and small can participate in games and contests.  The kids will enjoy crafts and face painting. Canoe rides are also happening throughout the day.    

Everyone can dress their patriotic best to compete for prizes in the Canadian Pride contest.  Don your maple leafs, moose antlers, mackinaws, and other colourful thematic red-and-white garb to compete for great prizes. 

Food and beverages are available at the Cantine on the historic site.

Everyone is invited to celebrate Canada Day at Fort William Historical Park, July 1st.  The Fort is open summer hours from from 10 am to 5 pm.
